About Me
Meet Jaclyn
Hi, I’m Jaclyn, a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) based in British Columbia, Canada. I earned my Master of Counselling Psychology (MCP) from Adler University in 2019, and for the past six years I have had the privilege of supporting clients through a wide range of life challenges.
I am deeply committed to ongoing learning and professional growth. I am currently pursuing certification in trauma-informed therapy, and have completed training as a General EMDR Practitioner to better support clients healing from distressing or traumatic experiences.
Over the years, I have developed a passion for working with women navigating stress, anxiety, life transitions, relationship struggles, and trauma. I believe that healing happens in a space where you feel truly seen, understood, and supported. My role is to help you explore the roots of your struggles while developing practical tools and strategies that empower you in your daily life. My goal is to help you build greater self-understanding, resilience, and confidence as you move toward meaningful change.
My Approach
Finding the right counsellor is an important step, and it helps to know a bit about their style and what to expect in sessions.
My approach is person-centred, meaning I see you as the expert of your own experience. My role is to walk alongside you, offering empathy, curiosity, and support as we explore what’s been feeling heavy or stuck.
I integrate tools from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), depending on your needs and goals. CBT focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, helping you recognize unhelpful patterns and develop practical ways to manage emotions and stress. EMDR, on the other hand, is a trauma-informed approach that supports the brain’s natural healing process. It can help you process painful or distressing experiences in a safe, guided way, so they feel less overwhelming over time.
Above all, my goal is to create a safe, compassionate, and collaborative space where you feel supported at your own pace. Healing isn’t about rushing or forcing change, it’s about creating room for understanding, self-compassion, and growth.
If this approach resonates with you, I’d love to connect for a free consultation and answer any questions you might have.
